Meet us

We are Simon and Sue from Te Anau, a small town in southern New Zealand, where we have both been working for the Department of Conservation, mainly in Fiordland National Park. Although we live in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand; we decided that we were getting older, life is short and it was time to quit our jobs, see some more of the world and have some adventures!

In October 2014 we started a South American cycle trip in Ushuaia, Argentina the most southern city in the world.  We then cycled north through Argentina and Chile, Bolivia, Peru and reached our goal, the equator, just north of the city of Quito in August 2015. It was the trip of a lifetime for both of us – 10 months and 14,000kms with some amazing experiences and scenery along the way (and a LOT of hills!!).

Here we are on the largest salt plain in the world, the amazing Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia.

After a summer back in New Zealand catching up with family & friends and earning some more travel money, we are off on another adventure in April 2016. Starting in Madrid, Spain we will cycle across to Portugal, then down to Gibraltar where we will sail across the Mediterranean to Morocco. After a loop around Morocco we will head back up to Spain and across to southern France where we will work our way up the eastern border heading for London and a flight home in late August.

We will post photos and a small blog every now and then; when we get some internet access and when we aren’t too exhausted from biking all day!

add another page.
